A work positioning system is plant or a structure, other than a temporary work platform, that positions and supports a person so a fall is prevented. It may be considered only where work on the ground or a solid construction, or with a fall prevention device such as an EWP, is not reasonably practicable. It demands high competence from users and supervisors, who should complete relevant competency-based training first, have a responsible attitude to safety at height, and be fit for the work and not impaired by alcohol, drugs or medication.
