Section 2: Identifying hazardous manual tasks – Australia Model Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks

Australia Model Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks 2.1a: 2.1 Consult workers to find hard, tiring or uncomfortable tasks

The PCBU must consult workers when identifying hazards from the work they do or will do. Workers can report discomfort and aches that signal potential hazards, and consulting them and their HSRs draws on everyone's experience. They can be asked to identify tasks that are harder than they should be, that cause muscle fatigue, that involve awkward positions or movements or difficulty controlling the load, or that cause discomfort. A discomfort survey is provided in Appendix E.
