Australia Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 (MA000009) S-DE: Schedules D and E: school-based apprentices and the supported wage system

School-based apprentices must be paid the relevant apprentice hourly rate for all hours including off-the-job training (25% of on-the-job hours for full-time school students, averageable), allowed the same training time as full-time apprentices, kept within a 6-year duration, progressed at 12 months per 2 years (or by competency), with credit on conversion and other conditions pro rata. Supported wage employees must be assessed by an approved assessor, documented in a signed SWS wage assessment agreement kept as a time and wages record and lodged with the Commission, paid the assessed percentage but at least the weekly floor in Schedule E of the current award (consolidated to 1 July 2026, read 30 September 2026), reviewed annually or on request, supported by workplace adjustments, and any trial limited to 12 weeks (plus up to 4) at no less than the floor.
