Australia Health Insurance (Accredited Pathology Laboratories, Approval) Amendment (Relevant Standards) Principles (No. 3) 2026 s3-authority: Authority

What does s3-authority require?

Section 3 states the authority. Subsection 23DNA(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 lets the Minister determine the principles to be applied in exercising the approval powers under section 23DN. The instrument is therefore a legislative instrument made under the Act, and it amends the Principles that the Minister applies when approving, refusing, varying or revoking an approval of premises as an accredited pathology laboratory. The Explanatory Statement records that the instrument is disallowable and that it is compatible with the human rights recognised in the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011.
