Section 2 Accreditation: pathways, classes, application, criteria, assessment and appeals – Australia FPA Australia Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme NSW (1 July 2020 edition)

Australia FPA Australia Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme NSW (1 July 2020 edition) 2.5: Application and criteria: apply on the approved online form with the Schedule 1 documentation (personal and employer details, project information and verifiers, statements of attainment, witnessed statutory declaration, photograph, proof of identity, insurance certificates of currency, signed declaration and fees); first accreditation in any class, category or level also requires passing FPA Australia's accreditation assessment; refusal follows an incomplete application or a shortfall against Schedules 2, 3 or 6

What does 2.5 require?

An applicant completes and submits the approved online application with the supporting documents and fee payment the application guide requires, and supplies anything further FPA Australia reasonably asks for. Schedule 1 lists what must be in the application: personal and employer or business details, relevant project information for each category and level sought with the details of the people who can verify it, statements of attainment or certificates for the Schedule 6 qualifications and units of competency, a signed and witnessed statutory declaration, a passport photograph, proof of identity, certificates of currency for the required insurance, a signed and witnessed applicant declaration and the application, category and jurisdiction fees. FPA Australia evaluates the application against Schedules 1, 2, 3 and 6 as applicable and assesses experience from the project information provided. Before accreditation is first granted in a class, category or level the applicant must also pass the accreditation assessment for it. FPA Australia may refuse to accredit or renew where the application is not suitably complete or the applicant lacks the required qualifications, knowledge, skills or experience; an unsuccessful applicant who has used any re-sit attempts must wait the prescribed period before reapplying.
