The name of a food on the label is its prescribed name where the Code gives one; otherwise it is a name or description enough to show the true nature of the food, including any extra words the Code requires in the name. Prescribed names include fermented processed or manufactured meat (not heat treated, heat treated or cooked), follow-on formula, formulated meal replacement, formulated supplementary food (and for young children), formulated supplementary sports food, honey and infant formula. A definition of a food in the Code does not by itself make the defined term the name of the food.
