Australia Disability Standards for Education 2005 s7.2-2: s 7.2(2), (3) and (6) Provide or facilitate specialised support services the student needs to participate

Where a specialised support service is necessary for the student to take part in the activities for which they are enrolled, the provider takes reasonable steps to give the student access to it if it is of a kind the provider provides (possibly through another person or agency), or to facilitate its provision by another person or agency if not. These are adjustments; the provider consults the student or associate about the need, decides whether such an adjustment is necessary, makes a reasonable one and repeats the process as needs change. Measures include staff awareness of available services, collaborative arrangements with specialist providers, specialised equipment and trained support staff such as specialist teachers, interpreters, note-takers and teachers' aides (s 7.3).
