Part 6: Curriculum development, accreditation and delivery – Australia Disability Standards for Education 2005

Australia Disability Standards for Education 2005 s6.2-1: s 6.2(1) Design courses so students with disability can take part in learning, assessment and certification

A provider that designs a course or program (including curriculum developers and accrediting bodies, and from 1 August 2026 developers of early childhood curricula and learning frameworks) takes reasonable steps to design it so that a student with a disability who is undertaking it, or who the provider reasonably expects may undertake it, can participate in its learning experiences, including assessment and certification requirements and any supplementary program, on the same basis and without discrimination. Measures include appropriate and accessible curriculum, materials and assessment, delivery modes suited to the student, study materials in accessible formats without disadvantage from conversion time, adjusted teaching strategies and additional support, inclusive field trips and placements, and assessment adapted to let the student demonstrate the competencies (s 6.3).
