Australia Commonwealth Climate Disclosure Requirements (Year 2 Reporting Provisions) S6: Strategy and decision-making: responses, transition plan or Emissions Reduction Plan and targets (Year 2)

What does S6 require?

From Year 2 the entity discloses its past and planned responses to climate risks and opportunities within its strategy and decision-making, including how they enter into developing, implementing and monitoring policy, and how it plans to meet targets it has set or must meet under law, regulation or policy, including Australia's Nationally Determined Contribution commitments such as the APS 2030 net zero target. It covers current and anticipated changes to its operational model and to its public policy delivery; any transition plan or Emissions Reduction Plan with its key assumptions and dependencies; how it plans to achieve its emissions and other targets through mitigation; and how it intends to track and cut its exposure and vulnerability while harnessing opportunities through existing controls, additional actions and adaptation plans, including whether it will redeploy, repurpose, upgrade or decommission assets. The detail may sit in the transition plan or Emissions Reduction Plan, cross-referenced.
