Data hosting is onshore by default; offshore hosting arrangements, including redundant systems, are managed by exception only. The DSP gives the ATO details of its hosting provider: provider name, provider location (region), redundancy location (region) and whether the provider is certified or assessed against a security standard (ASD or other). The requirement limits the risk of access to in-scope data by unauthorised persons, including foreign actors. For categories D and E it applies where the product provides any element of data hosting.
