Section 7 annexes and the appended ASEAN Guidelines on Chemical Classification, Labelling and Safety Data Sheet 2009 – ASEAN Guidelines for Occupational Safety and Health

ASEAN Guidelines for Occupational Safety and Health C4: Suppliers furnish a current sixteen-section safety data sheet for each hazardous chemical supplied, with the prescribed content per section, reviewed at least five-yearly

What does C4 require?

A supplier provides the current safety data sheet for every hazardous chemical supplied for use at work, again applying the Schedule III cut-offs, and reviews it every five years or earlier when new and significant hazard information arrives. The sheet follows the sixteen GHS sections in order, from identification of the chemical and supplier through hazards, composition, first aid, fire fighting, accidental release, handling and storage, exposure controls and personal protection, physical and chemical properties, stability and reactivity, toxicological and ecological information, disposal, transport and regulatory information to other information. The guideline prescribes what each section carries, for example a product identifier matching the label, recommended uses and restrictions, a supplier contact that reaches a knowledgeable person and a 24-hour emergency number, the classification and label elements, ingredients with CAS numbers in descending proportion, and first aid by route of exposure.
