AS9100D - Aerospace Quality Management System 8.3.2: Design and development planning

What does 8.3.2 require?

Planning of design and development sets the stages and controls, taking account of: what the work involves, how long it will take and how complex it is; the process stages needed, reviews, verification and validation included; who is responsible and who has authority; the internal and external resources required; the interfaces between those involved; the involvement of customers and users; what later provision of the product or service will need; how much control customers and other interested parties expect; and the documents and records required. Under 9100, where suitable, the work is split into separate activities, each with its own defined tasks, resources, responsibilities, design content, inputs and outputs, and planning takes into account whether the products and services can be made, verified, tested and maintained.
