AS/NZS 4836:2023 Safe Working on or near Low-Voltage and Extra-Low Voltage Electrical Installations and Equipment 3.3: 3.3 Testing plug-in electrical equipment

When fault-finding or testing energized plug-in equipment, an isolating transformer or RCD should be used for shock protection; isolating transformers must meet the AS/NZS 61558 series and RCDs must be 30 mA Type U devices or RCCBs or RCBOs to the AS/NZS 61008 and 61009 series.
