AS 3740:2021 Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas APP-C: Appendix C (normative) Membrane continuity testing methods

Where continuity testing is carried out (4.5.4), it follows the normative methods. Flood test: confirm full cure, plug floor wastes, flood the floor up to the waterstop angle's upper edge, leave at least 24 hours, check for any drop in level and for leakage in adjacent areas and ceilings below, confirm membrane and flashing are intact, and report any reduction in depth, leakage observed and the discontinuities responsible. Electronic leak detection (non-conductive membranes on conductive substrates): the membrane is clean and dry, scanned, conductance points marked and reported; passing means no conductance points. Seam probe (welded sheet membranes only): probe welded laps and mark and report any seam failure.
