Section 9 covers hose reels made to AS/NZS 1221 and installed to AS 2441 or statutory requirements. Service provider labels are no larger than 90 mm by 50 mm and never over manufacturer's labels, instructions or the service tag. Any system isolation valve able to shut off the hose reel supply main is restored open and padlocked open, or has its handle removed, after service, and backflow prevention devices on the supply are locked open. Any pumpset supplying hose reels complies with AS 2941 and is start-checked and serviced to Section 3. After any use or service the reel is restored to ready status: rewind in even layers while pressurised, re-engage the nozzle in its interlock, close the stop valve, then depressurise by opening the nozzle pointed down into a container and closing it (pre-1989 reels may lack an interlock; automatic reels lack a stop valve and interlock). Interfaces with other systems are tested with those systems. Each reel's type, size, position and ID is recorded on a site plan or equivalent, and each reel carries a permanent unique identification (characters, barcode or electronic tag) that cross-references the service records.
