Section 8 covers delivery lay flat hose made to AS 2792; hose not made to AS 2792 is maintained the same way but assumed to be Class L for the test pressure. Defects are repaired to the hose manufacturer's instructions; hose that cannot be repaired or fails the hydrostatic test is condemned. Poorly fitted couplings are cut off and refitted; a defect larger than 50 mm across may be removed by cutting and couplings refitted if the hose remains at least 20 m long, with the new length recorded and marked on the hose (and any minimum length needed for AS 2419.1 compliance kept). Repaired hose goes through the Table 8.4 routine before returning to service or storage. Condemned hose is prominently labelled, taken out of service, the responsible entity told, the outcome recorded and its service tag removed. After use, hose is serviced to Table 8.4 before going back. Each hose carries a service tag to Clause 1.16.4.
