Five-yearly: complete the six-monthly and yearly routines; discharge water, wet chemical, gas container foam, powder, carbon dioxide and vaporizing liquid units to check function, then recharge; check actuating devices, internal tubes and anti-overfill devices, and absence of moisture or foreign matter; check internal condition and lining against AS 2337.1 (carbon dioxide cylinders and all wheeled cylinders examined to AS 2030.5 at a certified gas cylinder test station); check seals; hydrostatically test portable bodies at whichever is highest of one and a half times working pressure, the periodic test pressure marked on the cylinder, or 2 MPa (carbon dioxide and wheeled units tested to AS 2030.5 at a certified test station); recharge with fresh agent at the manufacturer's frequency and leak test; renew all seals and gaskets on actuating devices, heads and caps; and pressure test wheeled hose assemblies at 10 MPa for carbon dioxide units and at the higher of one and a half times working pressure or 2 MPa for other wheeled units. A pressure test is advised where a unit is discharged after the fourth year so a new five-year cycle can begin.
