Extinguishers are serviced six-monthly, yearly and five-yearly; a six-monthly service is done on installation and after any use; the five-yearly cycle runs from the later of manufacture or last pressure test date, and if neither can be established the five-yearly service is done. Six-monthly, for all types: conspicuous, accessible and in its assigned place; anti-tamper device intact; clean with legible instructions; service tag attached; no external damage or corrosion beyond AS 2337.1; hose and nozzle secure, clear and uncracked; pressure indicator legible and in the operable range; weigh to confirm full charge; location sign visible; bracket secure; correct nozzle fitted and clear. Wheeled units: nozzle and control valve, carriage, tyre pressure, wheel bearing lubrication and rolling at least 5 m. Powder units: invert to confirm free-flowing powder. Gas container units: correct, charged cartridge serviced to AS 2030.5. Stored pressure units: actuating device free, where it can be checked without discharge. Gas container water and foam units: internal discharge tube and strainer clear and secure.
