Strip flooring is laid with tongues engaged and boards cramped and bedded on joists, end joints and board lengths controlled, and face or secret nailed to the joists; structural plywood is laid with face grain across the joists, running across two or more spans, with sheet ends butted over joists, edges on noggings unless tongued and grooved, nailed at set spacings and edge distances, not cramped, and glued with elastomeric adhesive in wet areas; particleboard flooring follows AS 1860.2, spans at least two joist spacings and is glued and nailed.
