In the predecessor, grabrails are 30 mm to 40 mm outside diameter or an equivalent section, have exposed edges and corners of at least 5 mm radius, withstand 1100 N applied anywhere in any direction without deforming, loosening or rotating, clear the wall by 50 mm to 60 mm with 600 mm clear above horizontal rails and at least 50 mm below horizontal or angled rails except at fixings, and leave the top 270 degree arc free for the hand (full length for vertical rails).
