AML/CTF Act 2006 (Australia) 31: Simplified CDD only for low-risk customers and under documented policies

Simplified CDD measures may be applied in initial or ongoing CDD only where the customer's ML/TF risk is low, no s 32 enhanced CDD trigger applies, and the AML/CTF policies deal with the measures (Rules 6-16). Rules 6-17 treats the persons-on-whose-behalf, persons-acting and beneficial owner matters as established where risk-appropriate KYC has been collected and there is no reason to doubt it; Rules 6-18 covers customers that are, or are controlled by, prudentially or investor-protection regulated persons or strata corporations; Rules 6-19 covers persons acting for a non-individual customer whose authority is established and whose additional risk is low.
