Regulation 699 prescribes the serious illnesses that are notifiable incidents under section 36 of the Act: any infection to which the work significantly contributed, including infections from working with micro-organisms, giving treatment or care, contact with human blood or body fluids, handling animals or animal products or carcasses, and the listed zoonoses (Q fever, anthrax, leptospirosis, brucellosis, Hendra virus, avian influenza and psittacosis), so a business must notify the regulator of such illnesses immediately as the Act requires. Part 11.3 also deals with entry warrants, refund, waiver or reduction of fees, stays of decisions under review and the confidentiality exception for information shared with corresponding regulators.
