W3C Verifiable Credentials (VC) Data Model 2.0 5.13: Securing mechanism specifications

Specifications for securing mechanisms must document normative algorithms for securing and verifying, provide a verification algorithm taking a media type and input and returning status, document, media type, controller, controlled identifier document, warnings and errors, relate the proof to the credential, define all proof terms and secure all graphs in the credential; they should integrity-protect referenced resources and register the mechanism in the Verifiable Credential Extensions document.
