Within 180 days of 3 April 2025 each CFO Act agency develops, on the OMB template, and posts publicly an AI Strategy for removing barriers to responsible AI use and raising enterprise AI maturity. The strategy lists the current and planned use cases that matter most to mission, operations or service delivery, assesses current AI maturity and sets a plan to reach the agency's goals covering AI-enabling infrastructure across the lifecycle, access to quality data and data traceability, enterprise capacity for innovation, tools for AI research and development, operations, governance and infrastructure to manage AI risk including security and privacy, an AI-ready workforce and AI literacy, and the tracking of future AI investment and procurement.
