What does 101.100 require?

Section 101.100 exempts from certain labeling requirements: food received in bulk containers at a retail establishment and displayed to the purchaser with a counter card or sign bearing the required information; food sold in a restaurant or by a food service establishment; shipments of food in bulk to a manufacturer or packer for processing, labeling or repacking, where the shipper and the recipient hold the written agreement on the labeling to be applied and the food is not adulterated; incidental additives and processing aids present at insignificant levels with no technical or functional effect (which need not be declared), except that sulfiting agents present at 10 ppm or more must always be declared; and foods for export that meet the destination country's requirements. The conditions of each exemption, including the written agreement and the sulfite rule, must be documented.
