US Executive Order 14028 - Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity 7(b): Sec. 7(b) Deploy an Endpoint Detection and Response initiative

FCEB agencies deploy an EDR initiative to support proactive detection of cybersecurity incidents in Federal infrastructure, active cyber hunting, containment and remediation, and incident response. OMB M-22-01 (8 October 2021) implements it: agencies give CISA access to current and future EDR deployments, assess their EDR capability gaps with CISA within 120 days, align deployments to CISA's technical reference architecture across the widest number of endpoints, fund and staff the tool through its lifespan, consolidate and retain endpoint data for analysis, and keep EDR consistent with privacy and statistical laws.
