A marketplace facilitator without substantial physical presence registers and collects on all facilitated sales from 1 October 2019 when its gross Maine sales, including facilitated sales, exceed $100,000 in the previous or current year, and must give each marketplace seller a written statement that it will collect. A remote marketplace seller counts only its direct sales toward its own threshold and need not register for marketplace-only sales once it has that statement.
