The vehicle manufacturer or its duly accredited representative applies for a Certificate of Compliance for SUMS (6.2), accompanied in triplicate by documents describing the Software Update Management System (6.3.1) and a declaration signed on the model of Appendix 1 to Annex 1 (6.3.2) attesting that the processes needed for the SUMS requirements of paragraph 7.1 are installed and will be maintained; under the 01 series as adopted the declaration also states which series of amendments of Regulation No. 156 it covers.
