On becoming aware of a compliance failure, the manufacturer as soon as practicable takes reasonable steps to stop the product reaching UK customers and to remedy the failure, and notifies as soon as possible the enforcement authority, other manufacturers, importers and distributors it supplied (and customers where specified), giving details, known risks and remedial steps, and telling supply-chain parties whether the authority has been notified.
