UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation) Art.38: Article 38 Position of the data protection officer

The DPO must be involved properly and in good time in all data protection issues, be given resources, access to data and processing and the means to keep expert knowledge, receive no instructions on the exercise of the tasks, not be dismissed or penalised for performing them, and report directly to the highest management level. Data subjects may contact the DPO; the DPO is bound by confidentiality and may hold other duties only if they create no conflict of interests.
