UK FCA Consumer Duty (Principle 12 and PRIN 2A)
PRIN 2A.8 to 2A.11: governance and culture, monitoring, redress and product book sales – UK FCA Consumer Duty (Principle 12 and PRIN 2A)

UK FCA Consumer Duty (Principle 12 and PRIN 2A) 2a11-product-books: On buying or selling a product book, apply the Duty to the acquired book and pass the information the buyer needs to comply

What does 2a11-product-books require?

A firm that has bought a product book from another firm owes the Duty for that book; for books bought before 31 July 2023 the firm may apply the products and services and price and value outcomes on a best-endeavours basis where it cannot obtain the information, having regard to the FCA's responsibilities of providers and distributors guidance. For a book first sold after the Duty came in, the selling firm must give the buyer the information it reasonably requires to comply with the Duty, and a buyer of a book first sold before that date applies the earlier rule.
