Every data collector, processor and controller registers with the Office (unless exempted by Gazette notice) using Form 2 and the prescribed fee, stating its details, any local representative for foreign applicants, its role, the nature and categories of data, purposes, retention, recipients, DPO, transfer destinations and security measures, with the transfer undertaking; registration lasts twelve months and renewal is sought at least three months before expiry; failing to register or giving false information is an offence.
