UAE Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) Regulations MC-VII: Market Conduct Rulebook VII: Prohibition on trading own account

Firms may not actively invest their own or their group's portfolio of virtual assets or other assets, except for prudent management of net liquid assets, treasury or balance sheet with full records kept eight years; VARA judges this by frequency, assets, volume, duration and profits. Group entities in Dubai must register as large proprietary traders where required, and the firm must report group entities that invest their own portfolios under the Compliance and Risk Management Rulebook.
