Licensees and other specified persons must comply with technical standards the Regulator makes or adopts (on facilities, networks, services, equipment, installer qualifications, electromagnetic compatibility and safety), and customer equipment requiring approval must be approved before connection. A licensee may refuse or stop service to equipment that threatens safety or network functioning or is unapproved, but must comply with a Regulator direction to supply once the Regulator finds the equipment safe and approved.
