TNFD Recommendations STR-D: Strategy D: Locations of assets and activities that meet the criteria for priority locations

What does STR-D require?

Disclose the locations of assets and activities in direct operations and, where possible, upstream and downstream value chains that are priority locations, meaning material locations (where material nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities have been identified) and/or sensitive locations (interfacing with nature in areas important for biodiversity, areas of high ecosystem integrity, areas of rapid decline in ecosystem integrity, areas of high physical water risk, or areas important for ecosystem service provision including benefits to Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities and stakeholders). Provide a list and/or spatial map of material locations (noting which are also sensitive) and of sensitive locations; how sensitive locations were defined, with the tools, data sources, indicators and metrics used; the process to identify priority locations; the geographic specificity achieved, any aggregation and its rationale (general requirement 3); and plans to improve or expand location assessment over each horizon.
