Practice 5: Encourage the Heart – The Leadership Challenge (Kouzes & Posner)

The Leadership Challenge (Kouzes & Posner) C9.2: Recognize contributions: Personalize recognition

What does C9.2 require?

Generic, predictable recognition feels insincere and can increase cynicism. The leader gets to know constituents well enough to recognize specific contributions in the way each person values, is creative about incentives rather than repeating the same praise, and simply says thank you as a natural, frequent habit.
