South Africa Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
Sections 27 to 50: Inspectors, investigations and inquiries, liability, offences, exemptions, regulations and machinery – South Africa Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993

South Africa Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 29-30: Cooperation with inspectors: employers, employees and users provide the facilities an inspector reasonably requires on entering premises, and employers bring every prohibition, direction or notice under section 30 to the attention of the representatives and employees concerned at once and respect barricades

What does 29-30 require?

When an inspector enters premises under section 29 to question people, require and examine records, inspect or remove articles, substances, plant or machinery or seize evidence, the employer occupying or using the premises, each employee working there and any plant or machinery user provide at all times the facilities the inspector and any assistant reasonably require to perform their functions effectively and safely, and the inspector issues a receipt for anything removed. Where an inspector prohibits an act, a use of plant or machinery, or an exposure under section 30(1), directs steps under section 30(3) or (4) or blocks, bars, barricades or fences off part of a workplace, nobody interferes with the barrier and the employer forthwith makes the prohibition, direction or notice known to the representatives and employees concerned.
