A person who communicated a false statement of fact in Singapore may be directed, even without knowing it was false, to communicate a correction notice (stating the statement is false and/or giving a specified true statement or its location) in the specified form, manner and time, to specified persons, in a specified online location, placed in specified proximity to every copy of the statement or a substantially similar one it communicates, and, where required, in a specified newspaper. The recipient bears the costs, may be served abroad or through an appointed Singapore representative, cannot rely on contractual or legal duties as a defence, and must comply while any application or appeal is pending; non-compliance without reasonable excuse is an offence ($500,000 for others than individuals). Acting in good faith to comply carries no liability.
