Singapore MAS Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence Risk Management (2026) 5.24: Re-validate or review AI in the portfolio as informed by materiality, with regular independent re-validation of high-materiality use cases and reviews triggered by findings on interconnected AI, monitoring alerts or breaches, significant change to the AI or its environment, or new external risks

What does 5.24 require?

AI already in use is re-validated or reviewed as needed so that it is still being used appropriately and its risks are still under control. Materiality drives whether, how often and how rigorously this happens, and high-materiality use cases get regular re-validation by independent parties. A review can also be prompted by problems or findings in connected AI systems or models, by alerts or threshold breaches from monitoring, by significant change to the AI or its operating environment, or by new risks outside the FI such as regulatory or technological developments.
