Regulation S-X Article 14: Financial statement effects – SEC Climate Disclosure Rule

SEC Climate Disclosure Rule 14-01: Rule 14-01: financial statement note, basis of calculation and periods

What does 14-01 require?

In any filing that requires subpart 1500 disclosure and audited financial statements, the Rule 14-02 disclosures go in a note to the financial statements (and so within the audit and internal control over financial reporting). Unless stated otherwise the subpart 1500 definitions apply; amounts use financial information consistent with the consolidation scope and the same accounting principles as the consolidated statements; and disclosure covers the most recent fiscal year and, to the extent previously disclosed or required, the historical years presented. Smaller reporting companies using Article 8 must also comply with Article 14 (Rule 8-01(b)(4)).
