Section 3: accepted cryptographic schemes – Saudi NCA National Cryptographic Standards (NCS-1:2020)

Saudi NCA National Cryptographic Standards (NCS-1:2020) 3.5: Key derivation: HKDF, IKEv2, TLS 1.2 and X9.63 KDFs built on the NIST SP 800-56 or 800-108 constructions

What does 3.5 require?

The accepted key derivation functions are HKDF (RFC 5869), the IKEv2 KDF, the TLS 1.2 KDF and the ANSI X9.63 KDF, and every KDF used must follow one of the NIST constructions: the single-step KDF of SP 800-56A/B, the extract-then-expand KDF of SP 800-56C, or SP 800-108.
