Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) - E-Commerce Chapter 12.16: Article 12.16: Dialogue on electronic commerce

What does 12.16 require?

Recognising the value of dialogue, including with stakeholders, the Parties must in conducting it consider cooperation under Article 12.4; current and emerging issues such as the treatment of digital products, source code, cross-border data flows and the location of computing facilities in financial services; and other matters such as anti-competitive practices, online dispute resolution and e-commerce skills including cross-border temporary movement of professionals. The dialogue is held as a dialogue forum under Article 18.3(1)(j) (which may include business, experts and academia), and its matters and recommendations must be taken into account in the general review under Article 20.8 (five years after entry into force, then every five years).
