PDPA Singapore 22: Correction of personal data

On an individual's request to correct an error or omission, unless the organisation is satisfied on reasonable grounds that a correction should not be made, it must correct the data as soon as practicable and send the corrected data to every organisation to which it disclosed the data within the preceding year unless that organisation does not need it for a legal or business purpose (or, with the individual's consent, only to specified organisations, credit bureaus excepted); an organisation notified of a correction must correct its own copy unless satisfied it should not; where no correction is made the data must be annotated with the requested correction; opinions including professional opinions need not be altered; the Sixth Schedule matters are excluded. The guidelines set 30 days for a response.
