PCI DSS 4.0 A3.1.3: A3.1.3 Defined and assigned PCI DSS compliance roles

Roles and responsibilities for PCI DSS compliance must be defined specifically and assigned formally to one or more people, covering: management of PCI DSS BAU activities; management of the annual PCI DSS assessments; management of continuous validation of requirements (daily, weekly, every three months, as each requirement dictates); and management of business-impact analysis for strategic decisions. Related PCI DSS requirement 12. Guidance: owners should have authority for risk-based decisions and understand their accountability; roles may go to one owner or several. Applies only to designated entities. Objective under the customized approach: not eligible for the customized approach; only the defined approach can be used.
