ORSA Model Act #505: insurer duties

Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) - NAIC Model Act MA-4: Section 4: ORSA requirement

What does MA-4 require?

Unless exempt, the insurer or its insurance group carries out an ORSA regularly, following a process comparable to the NAIC ORSA Guidance Manual, at least once a year and also whenever its risk profile changes significantly. The ORSA is a confidential internal review, proportionate to how large and complex the insurer or group is, of the significant risks in its present business plan and of whether its capital is enough to carry them.
