Employee exposure to each substance listed in Oregon's Tables Z-1, Z-2 and Z-3 is held within the limits the rule sets (Oregon did not adopt the federal construction gases, vapours, fumes, dusts and mists section): for Table Z-1 substances with a ceiling value, exposure never exceeds the ceiling (assessed as a fifteen-minute time-weighted average where instantaneous monitoring is infeasible); for other Table Z-1 substances the eight-hour time-weighted average is not exceeded in any eight-hour shift of a forty-hour week, with excursions above three times the limit allowed for no more than thirty minutes a day and never above five times it; skin exposure to substances carrying a skin designation is prevented or reduced through gloves, coveralls, goggles or other equipment, engineering controls or work practices; and Table Z-2 and Z-3 substances are held within their eight-hour averages, acceptable ceilings and maximum peaks.
