An agency that needs more time for the first annual attestation may request an extension, submitted by the Accountable Official and endorsed by the Agency Head, that describes which requirements cannot be met by the first attestation date and why, and gives a time-bound remediation plan with milestones, interim controls and a target date; the request is made in writing to NSW GovAI before 30 September of the reporting year and recorded in the agency's records management system.
