NIST SP 800-184 Guide for Cybersecurity Event Recovery 2.1d: Categorise assets by importance and map interdependencies to set the restoration sequence

What does 2.1d require?

The organisation documents and maintains categorisations of its personnel, processes and technology by relative importance (building on impact categorisations where they exist), because not everything can be protected and recovered equally, and uses the interdependencies among resources, including manual hand-offs between systems and tiered support such as directory services under email, together with regulatory, legal, environmental and operational requirements, to set recovery time objectives and the order in which systems are restored.
