NFPA 70 National Electrical Code 2023 Article 700 Emergency Systems 700.20-700.22: 700.20 to 700.22 Switching, switch location and exterior lights

Switches in emergency lighting circuits are arranged so only authorized persons control the emergency lights (no series or three- and four-way switching), placed where authorized persons can reach them easily, and in assembly and theatre occupancies in or near the lobby, never in a projection booth, on a stage or on a platform; exterior emergency lights not needed in daylight may be switched by a daylight sensor.
