New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM) 13.2.10.C.01: 13.2.10.C.01 Conditions for reclassifying media downward

Agencies that wish to lower the classification of media must ensure that: a formal decision has been taken to redeploy or reclassify the media; and either the originator has approved reclassifying all information on it, or the media has been suitably sanitised or destroyed.
